That gun ain’t your penis
So stop treating it that way. I think you need to know That it’s really not okay. It doesn’t need protected. It’s not a flag to wave To prove that you’re a man An excuse to misbehave. Be strong in your ability To think like an adult. Be brave enough to see That life gets difficult. Intellect to realize That guns aren’t the solution. To change this toxic creed We’ll need a revolution. Half a trillion dollars Spent each and every year By our military government To intimidate and fear. Your guns won’t stop the bombs Or the tanks that they could use. Your guns don’t stand a chance I hope you can deduce. If tyranny should come Your guns won’t make a dent. Our Constitution must evolve It’s rather evident. But, ignorance is deadly. Stupidity is fatal. Combine the two to see Our destiny is fateful.

Deny
Deny Deny Lie Lie Lie Don’t ever tell the truth There really is no use Deny Deny Deny Lie Lie Lie <repeat> Everyone is leaving
I’ll be left here all alone. Convicted, sentenced, imprisoned, They’ve found a loving home. They say that I am next, They say I don’t have long. But they must be confused ‘Cuz I know that they are wrong. Everybody loves me I know this to be true I share my worldly wisdom In earnest hatred that I spew. My friends grow by the minute Comrade Putin tops my list And don’t forget ol’ “Rocket Man” We’d have a 3-way tryst. My buddies are the best I just don’t know why they go The lawyers come, The lawsuits fly, And out the door they blow. Resigning left and right I hate to see them leave. They are jumping overboard As I remain to grieve. Now as my ship is sinking And I am left to ponder Why no one wants to work with me ‘Cuz it’s really quite an honor. And the list just keeps growing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Trump_administration_dismissals_and_resignations I wake up every morning
And listen to the news Discovering which words Trump continues to misuse. His favorite seems to be Council vs counsel. Will he get it right today? It really is quite doubtful. And even poor Melania He spelled her name wrong too. Melanie is close enough When you clearly have no clue. And now that Scott is free And Twitter is in tatters. “No challenge is to great” Except for proper English grammar. Unpresidented Unprecedented Who really knows the difference? When everything from out his mouth Is 100% pure gibberish. Incompetent in writing. Incoherent in his speech. But Trump will be remembered For creating “lasting peach.” https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-typos-spelling-tweets-unpresidented-2017-4#no-challenge-is-to-great-7 "Build the Wall!”
We hear them call Eager enthrall A wall to install Lack wherewithal Ladder protocol Orange neanderthal Political overhaul I need alcohol. “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
We hear them scream and yell These “swallowers of slogans” As would claim the great Orwell. “The human soundtrack” chanting “LOCK HER UP” and “BUILD THE WALL!” Never thinking what they’re saying Is propaganda protocol. “Unquestioning devoted drudges” Just along for the joy ride When “ignorance is strength” Full of patriotic pride. Don’t believe the bad “FAKE NEWS!” They lie and are corrupt It’s just a massive “WITCH HUNT!” Democrats have made it up. He’ll “DRAIN THE SWAMP!” He’ll “BUILD THE WALL” He’ll do it all, you’ll see! Because thinking is a crime With a lifelong penalty. As I read “1984” by George Orwell, many aspects of his story were quite applicable to today’s political rhetoric. Certain phrases caught my attention “swallowers of slogans”, “the human soundtrack”, “ignorance is strength”, “unquestioning devoted drudges” and “thought crime”, that I felt compelled to write a poem about it. I’m the helpless victim
It’s all Obama’s fault Or the democrats or Hillary Unamerican assault. I point my finger outward And shake it up and down. I watch Fox News and tweet and tweet Emoji face with frown. Everyone is lying My lawyer most of all. Recorded conversations And even our phone calls. Don’t believe a word they say They’re all a bunch of liars Just turn your head and look away While Putin and I conspire Believe me ‘cuz I say it’s true That’s all you need to know. Ignore the nose upon my face As it persists to grow. The faithful are the ones
Who abolished civil rights The President confirmed it This really should suffice. From separating children And locking them in cages Ensuring inequality For women and their wages. For those who seek our help We’ll build a bigger wall And if you are a Muslim There’s no entering at all The Bible touts forgiveness And loving one another But also stoning children If they disrespect their mother I guess it all comes down To which verse they choose to cite To guide us and our principles As they abolish civil rights. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/02/07/trump-lauded-abolition-civil-rights-his-gaffe-did-not-go-unnoticed/?utm_term=.7c52cebb161e Contained within the pen
Is the future and the past The words declared Imagined in ink Ascribed to society There is a power Within the pen One’s thoughts Transformed into words. Define the sexes Define the races Define us. For centuries Men controlled the pen Prescribed our roles Restricted our bodies Restrained our minds. Understanding this We now know, She who controls the pen Controls the power. What will you write? Two videos caught my attention today. The first was a video from HONY in which a mystic discusses the “control of the pen”, and second was a clip of Pat Robertson discussing the need to dismiss Saudi murder concerns because we’ve got a 190 billion dollar military arms deal with them. It was another realization that this “pro-life” religious leader actually cares less about lives and more about money. It’s time we give everyone a pen—let us define our own lives, roles, bodies in the ink of identity. https://www.facebook.com/humansofnewyork/videos/2052973148110108/ https://crooksandliars.com/2018/10/pat-robertson-shrugs-saudi-murder-cites I wrote this poem after reading an article about Bill Cosby’s guilty verdict quoted Janice Baker-Kinny (a victim of Bill Cosby’s) stated, “This toxic chain of silence has been broken”. https://www.yahoo.com/news/bill-cosby-went-expletive-laden-190830051.html “This toxic chain of silence
Has been broken.” Shredded to pieces By the violent force Of justice. No longer fearful No longer ashamed We are stronger We are braver We have a voice And we are LOUD! Hear our cries Through decades of pain As we shudder From exhaustion We hold our heads high As the judge proclaims, “Guilty.” What will the NRA do When their hour glass runs out Grab their guns and shoot us Or sit in the corner and pout? Their empty threats mean nothing To a country that’s had enough Of their bullshit paranoid dribble It’s time we call their bluff. Our voices are more powerful Than their military weapons And our votes will make our country No longer one to threaten. As they scramble to divide us America learns the truth Of their Russian manipulation We’ll finally save our youth With stricter regulations And gun laws we enforce Politicians paid by the NRA Will no longer be endorsed. Don’t pick a fight with us They’ll never win this war Now that we have learned The NRA's a Russian whore. I wrote this poem after seeing the NRA's latest knock-off video "Time's Up" https://www.nratv.com/home/video/dana-loesch-has-a-new-show-coming-to-nratv
and multiple stories about Russia's ties to the NRA. http://www.businessinsider.com/nra-russia-ties-scrutiny-alexander-torshin-butina-trump-2018-3 and https://www.npr.org/2018/03/01/590076949/depth-of-russian-politicians-cultivation-of-nra-ties-revealed Melania is special We’ve known it from the start Eligible ‘cuz she’s pretty But not because she’s smart She earned her EB1 Visa From her talented ability To smile for the camera For all the world to see “Distinguished" magazines She posed for in the nude Gave her unique citizenship So deportation she’d elude. It’s quite a superpower. It’s a special force indeed When a 36, 24, 36 Is really all you need To get your citizenship And never have to wait Like the millions of others Who try to immigrate. Beauty has its privilege It comes with a big cup size And a fold out poster spread That appeals to all the guys. Fotografías de Melania para la revista GQ.
What will it finally take? How many have to die? Until you’ll fix the problem As the gun deaths multiply. Women, children, babies These innocent lives are lost How much is a life really worth When the NRA decides the cost. They use John Lott’s fake studies His “facts” are quite untrue But facts don’t really matter In the hatred that they spew. And yet you say you’re pro-life But that doesn’t mean a thing The monumental hypocrisy Within the alt-right wing. As the corpses pile up And the death toll steadily climbs We wait for your response As they chalk the body lines. And so we wait… And wait… And wait… But each day’s a day too late. Between the Las Vegas massacre and the First Baptist Church slaughter in Texas just over a month apart…nothing continues to change with regards to gun reform.

People live it every day As weapons maim and murder Our compassion’s gone astray. Empathy abolished Humanity denied Benevolence’s been beaten Our morals are revised. Extremism ignited Within various religions. Preaching death to others And making it their mission. No longer can we tolerate This horrid lack of judgment Their actions are disgusting Vile and repugnant. We have the strength within us We need only use our words Show kindness in our actions And speak so we’ll be heard. Read to understand Share what you have learned Hold out your hands to others Critical thinking must return. Question what you think is true And learn about new things Freedom in your knowledge Find purpose in your wings. Our country has a sickness
But it’s not a virus or disease It’s how the corporations Can screw us as they please. Afflicted by their greed We’ve got a corporate STD Martin Shkreli is the worst I think we all agree. This Pharma Bro’s quite deadly With his AIDS drug price increase His gluttony is unlimited Price gouging has to cease. The solution to this problem Is corporate castration Cutting off their balls To save our beloved nation. |
